Sudan Emergency Relief Appeal
Crisis in Sudan: The world’s worst humanitarian disaster
For more than 2 and a half years, the people of Sudan have been suffering under the weight of a devastating conflict that has transformed the country into what the UN calls the world’s worst humanitarian disaster.

Civilians are subject to frequent attacks, sexual violence is widespread, and an endless list of human rights violations has been recorded – all while the country’s health care system has collapsed and famine-like conditions threaten millions.

An already dire situation has escalated in recent weeks as the city of El-Fashir in North Darfur State fell after a violent 18-month siege. Media outlets have reported horrific stories of mass murder, with entire families being ripped apart.

This latest escalation is catastrophic and has worsened the levels of starvation in Sudan.

Famine-like conditions have been confirmed in numerous areas across Sudan, while more than 24 million people (around half the population) are classed as acutely food insecure. More than 637,000 Sudanese face catastrophic levels of hunger.

More than 12.8 million people have been displaced from their homes, including 3.9 million who have fled to neighbouring countries like Chad and South Sudan.

More than 30 million people are in need of some form of humanitarian assistance – that is more than two-thirds of the population.

Sudan has yet again been struck with violent conflict where more than 800 civilians have been killed and hundreds more injured as fighting continues. International Islamic Youth League is preparing to support hospitals with providing essential aid and food. Donate now!
Story
The situation in Sudan is currently volatile and the city of Khartoum is in lockdown. International Islamic Youth League is extremely concerned at the new escalation of violence in Sudan, which risks exacerbating the country's humanitarian crisis. More than 15 million people across Sudan are already suffering from food shortages and rampant inflation.

Over 800 civilians have been killed and thousands injured from the fighting.International Islamic Youth League IIYL staff in Sudan are monitoring the situation and are on standby to provide vital aid if the crisis escalates further. More than 1 million people have been displaced. If the violence continues and spreads there is a high risk of large numbers of women, men and children being displaced from their homes.
