My name is Michelle, and together with my brother, we have been taking care of our mum (69 years old) who has been battling Stage 4 lung cancer for more than 3 years. She is also living with Stage 5 kidney failure, and she will soon need dialysis regularly.
Recently, her doctors informed us that she needs another PET scan because her cancer markers are rising again. On top of that, her cancer medication alone costs RM1,700 every week, and she cannot miss or delay her treatment.
My brother and I are doing our best, but we are reaching a point where we cannot manage everything financially. I work far away, and travelling back and forth makes it harder for me to help full-time. For me to move back home to take care of my mum full-time, we need enough funds not only for her medical needs, but also to cover our own commitments and debts that we have been struggling to keep up with while caring for her.
We have been trying to handle everything quietly for years, but the situation is now too overwhelming. We need help with:

• PET scan (RM4000) and follow-up scans
• Weekly cancer pills (RM1,700 per week for life)
• Dialysis preparations and treatment
• Biopsies and specialist appointments
• Daily caregiver costs
• Our own basic commitments that have piled up due to her long-term illness

We don’t have all her receipts because she doesn’t like sharing them, but we are being as transparent as we can about her condition and what we are facing as her children and caregivers.
